MEET THE ARTIST!

Hi guys!

The internet sphere has been absolutely flowing with #meetthaartist posts lately, and me being an illustrator hadn't gotten to doing one such post. Since this blog is new I felt it would be apt to do this post now, so you'll can get to know me, a bit. So this is me, my version of a #meettheartist.

I wear jeans, a lot and I always, always carry around that little black studded sling bag (which is now falling apart) wherever I go and stuff in whatever I can including my bulky keys. That Hidesign wallet was a 21st birthday gift and I just can't part with it. I have this weird attachment to things and I tend to use them till they literally cannot be used anymore. Oh, and the rubber sandals, I have started using them a lot lately only because they do not wear out easily and I do not have to keep buying new ones. :D

Maybe I should talk a bit about my illustration style. Well, it varies a bit but I tend to always stick to a similar colour pallete and I LOVE indigo blue. I cannot express how much I love that colour and I cannot have an artwork devoid of it. Obsessed is the word. I also love playing with flat colours along with textures, I love how a texture can add so much to a particular artwork and just lift it up.

I hope you all are having the loveliest week, I sure am! Please tell me what you think of my posts, I would love some constructive feedback. Do stick around and until next time. :)

THAT AWKWARD FIRST POST

Hi guys!

This is that first blog post where I am not so sure about what I am doing but trying my best and putting some content out there.

I am Danica, a happy illustrator from lovely little Goa, India. As an Illustrator/Designer I go by the brand name #YetAnother by danica. After what turned into years of procrastination, I finally decided to start an illustration blog to document my art journey.

The past month has been quite a good one. I went for a week long holiday to Vietnam and Bangkok with my family to celebrate my parents 25th wedding anniversary, and once back I kickstarted some good projects.

These are my "January favourites". ( refer to the numbers in the illustration )

1) The Chicken Pho that me and my family had on the streets of Vietnam that was also part of the humongous breakfasts we had there daily.

2) I haven't picked up a novel for more than a year. That's a hell lot for a girl who was once a bookie. This month I read "FanGirl" by Rainbow Rowell to soothe my rom-com needs. I was so hooked I read the whole book in two days!

3) I have been searching for the perfect pair of sneakers for the LONGEST time. ( Goa has very minimal shopping options ) I first saw this light Grey pair in the Mumbai H&M but since I was going on the holiday I thought I might find something better. After the longest hunt I picked up the same one at the H&M in Bangkok because no other sneakers were as perfect as these.

4) I am a curly head and I am very particular about what goes on my hair. I came across "OGX Quenching Coconut Curls" in a drugstore and it had "sulfate free" written on it. I tried it out and my curls are now soft and healthy as ever, and I'm not sure if it's because of this product but my hairfall has drastically reduced. Best shampoo discovery!

5) Ahh cheese! I am that weirdo who says, "cheese is my chocolate". A relative brought me some German Baby Gouda from abroad and gahh! I savoured every single bite!

6)This one, I wont be forgetting for the rest of my life. Cruising in Ha Long bay, Vietnam with my family, on my parents wedding anniversary was a bucket list item! I have absolutely no words to describe that place. I never wanted to leave.

So those were my January favourites. Hope you enjoyed this first nervous post. Haha.

I will be posting weekly. Do stick around. I wish you a lovely week ahead. :)
